Project: West Oxford Primary School
ASA Landscape Architects were approached by the school to review their outdoor spaces and look at the opportunities for creating a more stimulating outdoor environment for their pupils.
We created an outline masterplan for the whole site, allowing separate projects to be identified and prioritised according to available budgets and need.
The Foundation Unit outdoor resource area was identified as a high priority area. We produced detailed designs to a budget, which included a sand play area with deck, raised beds, climb structure, tunnel and mound, new seats and shade sails. The following summer (2013) Phase 2 was completed which included a new goal mouth and climbing area.
All construction was carried out in the summer holiday, with the pupils returning to school with an exciting new play ready to go!
