Project: SODC HQ, Central Didcot, Oxfordshire

ASA Landscape Architects, working closely with the Architectural and Engineering team at Ridge LLP lead the development of the plans from concept to planning, for the landscape for the new head office for South Oxford District Council. Located opposite Didcot Train Station, the proposed SODC HQ development forms part of the wider Didcot Gateway development site.

  • A public plaza, with planters and integrated seating, to separate users from the adjacent road and provide spill out space for the new café.
  • A public garden space, with incidental play features, a range of seating options and SUDs features planted with native wildflower mixes as well as planting to soften the PV roof canopy for staff parking.
  • A privately accessed space to be used by staff or hired out for events.
  • A staff roof-top terrace
  • Numerous bike parking facilities for visitors and staff.

The design plays a key role in creating an accessible, welcoming and sustainable public realm, complementing the civic character of the new headquarters.
